Frequently asked
Our Diamonds
What is a lab-grown diamond, really?
A real diamond, grown above ground instead of mined from it. The crystal is the same carbon with the same sparkle, and it grades on the same scales; even a trained jeweller can’t tell a grown stone from a mined one by eye or loupe. The real differences are where it comes from and what it costs, and we describe it as lab-grown everywhere, always.
Are your diamonds certified?
Yes. Every Lumis diamond is graded by the International Gemological Institute (IGI), the world’s leading independent gem laboratory. Your certificate number is laser-inscribed on the diamond’s girdle and can be verified on IGI’s website at any time.
Why do lab-grown diamonds cost less?
A shorter journey. A grown diamond goes from facility to cutter to setter to you, without mining operations or a long chain of intermediaries. The saving reflects the supply chain, not the quality of the stone.
What makes the pink diamonds pink?
Trace structure in the crystal itself, just as in natural pink diamonds. The colour runs through the stone and will never fade, wash out, or wear off. Natural pinks are extraordinarily rare; growing ours is what lets the colour be worn. That is the Aurora Collection.
Will a lab-grown diamond hold up over a lifetime?
Forever. Diamond is the hardest known material, Mohs 10, whether grown or mined. It will not cloud, fade or soften, and it can be re-set, passed down and loved for generations.
Orders & Shipping
When will my order ship?
Every piece is made to order and ships in about 2–3 weeks, fully insured with signature on receipt. You’ll receive tracking the moment it leaves the workshop.
How much does shipping cost?
Nothing within Singapore: courier delivery is free and fully insured. International delivery is available on request; write to us before ordering and we’ll quote it plainly.
Is the packaging gift-ready?
Always. Every piece arrives gift-ready, and no prices appear anywhere in the box. If it’s a gift, tell us in your order note and we can time the delivery to the day.
Returns & Exchanges
What is your return policy?
Because every piece is made to order just for you, we don’t offer change-of-mind returns at this time. If your piece arrives damaged or faulty, write to us and we’ll make it right.
Can I exchange a colourway or length?
Not at this time; pieces can’t come back into stock. If you’re torn between colourless and Aurora pink, or between bracelet lengths, write to us before ordering and we’ll help you choose.
Care
How do I clean my jewellery?
Warm water, a drop of gentle dish soap, and a soft brush, once a month or whenever the sparkle dims. Avoid harsh chemicals, ultrasonic cleaners at home, and swimming pools.
Any rules for daily wear?
Jewellery should go on last. Perfume, hairspray, and lotion first. Take pieces off for the gym, gardening, and sleep (the bracelet especially), and store them in their box when resting.
How do I care for rhodium-finished white gold?
Our white gold pieces, like the Lucida Tennis Bracelet, are finished in rhodium for a bright, mirror-white lustre. With daily wear the rhodium layer naturally thins, and re-plating every 1–3 years is normal maintenance for any rhodium-finished white gold, not a defect. Any trusted jeweller can re-plate the piece; the diamonds and the gold beneath are unaffected.
What if something needs repair?
Write to us. Lumis pieces are meant to be worn for decades, and we stand behind them. We’ll help you arrange cleaning, repair, or a new clasp or back when life happens.
